The Veteran...
Dad served in both the Air Force as well as the Army. He retired after 22 1/2 years of service to his country from the Army and was laid to rest with full military HONORS. He did not only one but TWO tours in Vietnam and returned home a hero, even when the war wasn't popular and did not have the support of the public back at home. He did this with pride, sense of duty and diligence, all the while knowing the dangers involved to include the loss of his own life. He did all this so that we can stand here today and breath a sense of relief knowing we are safe here at home.
His Pride and Service to Country was followed by all three of us boys. Tim went on to retire from the Marine Corps. Niko served in the Marines as well but choose a different path for his life. I, Mike, choose to follow in my fathers steps and joined the Army, however after 10+ years I had to make a hard choice and for the better of myself and family I choose to venture outside of the military.
The Husband...
Dad and Mom have been married for over 42 years, a feat in itself in today's day and age. They took every challenge that life through at them side by side and through thick and thin, even during Vietnam.
